This past year, we were stunned by the deaths of three key employees, Sean Gucken, Al Poston, and Arthur (AT) Thomas. These came on top of the loss of John Long just a few years ago. All four played key roles in the growth of the company, and because of that, we have chosen to memorialize the four of them with a Trailblaze Challenge benefitting Make-A-Wish Alabama.
The Trailbaze Challenge is a one-day, 26.3 mile hike on the Pinhoti Trail near Oxford, Alabama. We will sponsor a team of hikers with a goal of raising $2,500 per team member. Organized training for the hike has begun, and the hike will take place in early May. Our team of hikers includes Lance Owens, Derek Lamar and wife Crystal, Greg Graves, Tom Adama, and Julia Lanier.
You can find out more about the Alabama Trailblaze Challenge and its support for more than 300 kids in Alabama waiting to have wishes granted.
President Bob Adams stated, “I believe these men made a permanent impression on our company, our customers, and their community. It is fitting for us to memorialize them in such a fashion because they challenged Revere to reach for and attain high standards of achievement.”
There are other ways to participate besides hiking. The team’s official web site allows you to donate to a specific team member or to the general team goal or $15,000. We hope you can help us honor these fine people and help out children in the process.
